TWO style queens have scooped the fashion stakes on their first ever visit to the Limerick Races. 

Michelle Lenahan celebrated her 25th birthday in style after winning the 'Best Tressed' prize at the Christmas Racing Festival at the Patrickswell course. 

A banker at IBRC, Michelle looked a million dollars in her belted, plaid 'Jesire' coat borrowed from her aunt. 

She hadn't spent a fortune on her outfit, she said, with her red ankle boots from Dunnes Stores, handbag from Penneys, and a rented hat. But it was Michelle's mane of shiny, shoulder-length chestnut hair, coloured at Peter Mark in Dublin's St Stephen's Green, that won her gold on the day.Lace dress 

Michelle's decision to get a blow-dry at the local Bellisimo hair salon that morning paid off handsomely. She ended up winning a year's supply of shampoo from Herbal Essences, who sponsored the 'Best Tressed' prize. It also includes a VIP appointment with celebrity hair stylist Dylan Bradshaw. 

Like Michelle, yesterday was Muriel Callaghan's first visit to the Limerick Races and she couldn't have been more surprised when she was named winner of the overall 'Best Dressed' prize. 

An orthopaedic nurse who is well used to treating injured jockeys at Blanchardstown Hospital,china wholesale bridesmaid dresses Muriel was spotted by the judges in the stand with her fiancee Alan O'Sullivan from Tralee. 

Her winter white ensemble was both sophisticated and practical, ideal for watching the racing outdoors and later as she collected her prize in the Greenmount suite. 

Muriel, who originally comes from Ballinalee, Co Longford, and now lives in Clonsilla, Dublin, wore a Zara coat over a Diva dress.

The prize of a pampering spa weekend for four in a suite at the Strand Hotel in Limerick will come in handy before her upcoming wedding celebrations in Leixlip,wedding dresses made in china wholesale Co Kildare,bridal gown wedding dress next May, she said. 

The family have made a Christmas Eve visit to the pantomime a tradition, and come to the show every year. 

The bride's mother, Lynn Goldsmith, said, “Victoria always wanted a Christmas Eve wedding, it's been hectic but wonderful, even yesterday she was making mince pies with the boys as that's what they always do at Christmas.” 

After the show the family spent the afternoon together followed by an evening reception. 

Eastbourne Theatres artistic director Chris Jordan, who also wrote and directed the pantomime, said, “We are delighted that the Rogers family decided to celebrate their first few hours of married life with us here at the Devonshire Park Theatre. 

“Pantomime is always a magical occasion and we are delighted that it has formed such a big part of their family life, especially on the most special day of their lives!
