'Bachelorette' Ashley Hebert marries J.P. Rosenbaum in a made-for-TV wedding wearing a custom gown designed by Randi Rahm. 

Rahm's gown designed just for Ashley was magicial. Mermaid dresses are always enchanting and sometimes expensive. Hebert's cost plently of lobsters and clams. 

The mermaid dress by Rahm was a perfect silhouette of choice. In fact, one of the most popular dress shapes for the year. 

HollywoodLife.com contributor Katrina Mitzeliotis wrote, "The bride stepped out in a floor-sweeping, custom-made mermaid gown. The dress featured cap sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and a cutout in the back but it was her 40-pound train that really stole the show." 

Although the train was almost too heavy for Ashley to move around in safely the mermaid dress was stunning.

Fashion and style guru Rachel Zoe designed a rose gold sequinned mermaid dress for Karolina Kurkova to attend the 2012 Met Gala.

The Museum Art Hotel Costume Catwalk - in association with The Dominion Post - will again be part of the Hertz Sevens in 2013, giving those with flair for dress-up a place to strut their stuff. 

The inaugural competition last year attracted about 600 entrants, with the Lego group from Palmerston North winning the supreme prize. Hotel owner Chris Parkin, who is funding the $30,000 prize pool, said costumes would be judged on flamboyance, cleverness and how much work had gone into them.
