He was a real Tom Sawyer as a little boy, playing in the woods, camping and using toy guns. It was also a confusing time. Rebecca Taylor was born a male but discovered early a love for dolls and dresses. After growing up active in the LDS Church, serving a mission, getting married in the temple, having children and attempting suicide, Taylor came to a realization -- he was a she.
Taylor is one example of why members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities in Provo are organizing several events culminating in the first Provo Pride Festival on Sept. 21 at Memorial Park on 800 East and Center Street.
According to organizers these events are a way to celebrate being human without being arrested. They are making it for families and appropriate for this area.
"While I enjoyed my life as a little boy, part of me would like to go back and live my life as a little girl," Taylor said.Find the latest trends in prom and Wholesale Short Homecoming Dresses with a large selection of unique. "I never had a chance to explore my sexuality."
David Pate, president of Provo Pride, said the event's purpose is to educate the community on the issues connected to many members of the LGBT community.Shop wholesale Modest Prom Dresses from cheap Modest.
Organizers met recently with Mayor John Curtis to discuss the festival.
"We articulated to them the same concerns we would express to a group of 800 stroller-pushing mothers looking to formally congregate in one of our parks," city spokesman Corey Norman said. "I think you'll find the city most interested in the safety of the park and patrons."
The Provo Pride organization will have to comply with rules concerning emergency access, bathrooms and security and maintaining neighbors' privacy just like any other group that applies for a permit of this type.
The city cannot regulate park use based on which group wants to use it, as long as each group meets the necessary planning criteria.
"It's been a lot of work and a lot of people willing to help," Pate said.Super dazzling Round Chiffon Round Neck Beaded prom dresses is on sale. "In a place like Utah County it's hard to be different.you will find so many wonderful wedding dress 100%silk with high quality and low price."
"We want everybody at the festival, and in the community, to feel as comfortable as possible. We understand certain elements of Pride that happen in other communities would make people uncomfortable here," Pate said.
In order to make money for the Sept. 21 event, Pride organizers will be holding a stand-up comedy show and silent auction Tuesday at 7 p.m. at The Madison on 300 West and Center Street. The event will feature Pate, who has performed with Patton Oswalt, Tim Robinson of "Saturday Night Live" and Jesse Popp from "Conan," Abigail Harrison Petterborg, a finalist in the 2013 Rocky Mountain Laugh Off, and Natashia Mower,Beading Ruching New Arrival Column Ruching Regency Chiffon Prom dresses by famous designer is every lady's dream. who has been Salt Lake comedy circuit for two years and recently placed third in Utah's "Last Comic Sandy" comedy competition.
The silent auction will feature memorabilia signed by the Neon Trees, two sets of tickets to Chicago's Second City Theater, season tickets to Plan B Theater in Salt Lake, a gift basket from Ogden's Own Distillery and more. The special item of the night comes from Mitch Mayne, the openly gay LDS ward executive secretary in San Francisco made famous through his story printed in a 2009 edition of Sunstone Magazine.
"He is donating his copy of the magazine, with a special note only to be read by the purchaser," Pate said. Other activities coming in September include an interfaith meeting, drag queen competition and after-hours party the day of the festival.
Asked why have the event, Pate became very solemn and said, "There are all kinds of frightening stats of gay and transgendered youth. Thirty percent commit suicide and 40 percent are homeless. That is unacceptable. We need to think why are our kids killing themselves and what can we do to stop that."
Pate is hoping the Pride event will bring youth and families together, to be educated, informed and feel it a place of love and learning. Read the full story at www.dressestmall.com/index.php/noble-beaded-a-line-straps-long-prom-evening-dress-446.html.
The image of Oktoberfest around the world is one of smiling girls in traditional German Dirndl dresses, holding a 10 or 12 giant mugs of beer. While this is definitely a big part of celebrating with the locals, the festival has come to encompass so much more in its 213-year history. In 1810, Munich citizens were invited to a giant field to celebrate the wedding of Prince Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The celebrations were held on Theresa’s Meadow – Theresienwiese in German. Both the name and the tradition stuck, and today the celebration is known to locals simply as die Wiesn.
Over the years certain events and activities have been added to the celebration, making it truly a world-class event. Parades, agricultural shows, carnival games, rides, and musical performances go from morning to evening for the duration of the festival, buys and sells preloved designer Cheap 2013 mother of the bride gowns online, while thousands of people crowd into huge tents to sing, eat, drink, socialize and enjoy two centuries of German tradition. Indeed, the festival has only been cancelled 24 times in its history, due to outbreaks of cholera, various wars and severe economic hardship.
Of course, the most visible aspect of the event is the giant mugs of beer that everyone seems to have in-hand. It may seem like a simple party beverage but the beer that is served isn’t just any old brew. Beers served at Oktoberfest must conform to the Reinheitsgebot, a 16th-century law that ensured beer produced in the region used only the purest of ingredients. And in case you were wondering, roughly 8 million liters of beer is consumed every year!
And we would be remiss to forget to mention the beautiful city of Munich. Even if one only makes it to the Oktoberfest celebrations for a few days, there is still plenty to see and enjoy in one of Germany’s most popular cities.
The hotels below were chosen for their reputation as quality properties, but will soon fill up with revelers looking to join the festivities. Check them out now to book your room, and get your party hat ready!

Tucked behind a small storefront in downtown Gibbon, Cheryl Hughes' HR Poppin' Snacks is a wholesale gourmet popcorn company that is gaining national attention.
The company produces more than 100 flavors, many seasonal, and can do custom flavors and colors.
Hughes provided toy producer Mattel with special pink popcorn for Barbie's 53rd birthday party in 2012.
Given a color swatch, she can whip up popcorn to match the bridesmaids' dresses for a wedding. She supplied red, white and blue popcorn for a veteran's funeral.
Hughes, a native of Grand Junction, buys and sells preloved designer Cheap 2013 mother of the bride gowns online, Colo., has been in the popcorn business since 2000, when she purchased an old hot-air popper and a cooker/coater from a popcorn company that was going out of business.
“I just dabbled as I learned more about the business and more about popcorn and developed and redeveloped my recipes,” she recalled.
In 2003, she moved her company to Gibbon and jumped into full-time wholesale business. At first, she was selling just a few standard flavors, but her creativity fueled new experiments.
“I quickly developed up to 25 (flavors) or so, then we kind of hung in there,Our wedding 2013 Cheap Designer Bridesmaid Dresses great cheap price, and then we just kept adding and adding and now we basically have over 100 flavors that are in our repertoire,” Hughes said.
Some of those flavors are seasonal specials, such as Egg Nog and Peppermint Stick. Hughes has also developed a division of wine-flavored popcorn, Vin de Mais. This “Wine of Corn” line contains flavors such as Crisp Cabernet, Pinot Noir and Merlot.
Her personal favorites include Cinnamon, Butter Pecan and good ol' Butter. She also enjoys the newly developed Birthday Cake and an award-winning Cashew Almond Toffee.
She plans to expand her flavors to include more sugar-free and gluten-free options.
Hughes estimates that she and her two full-time employees bag 150 to 200 pounds of popcorn per day.
A giant air popper pops the corn. Then the popcorn is mixed with coatings in large metal cooker/coaters. Hughes is particular about covering every kernel.
“I don't want any half-coated popcorn kernels,” Hughes said.
“I want them to buy something in the quantity that they have a chance (to sell), and if it doesn't sell they're not out a bunch,” Hughes said. “I'm really all over trying to help the small businesses.”
Some of those businesses are local mom-and-pop stores, and some are high-end specialty shops. She supplies the Old Town House of Jerky and Root Beer in San Diego with Caramelized Jamaican Jerky and Root Beer Float popcorn.
Hughes also sells popcorn through Cash-Wa Distributing Co., her largest distributor.
“They only carry five or six of the basic flavors, but it's still really good for me,” Hughes said.
She has a broker covering Colorado and Montana and has showrooms in Kansas City, Minnesota and Denver.
Hughes also sells her snacks in the Grow Nebraska retail stores at the Conestoga Mall in Grand Island and at Omaha's Eppley Airfield. She'll have a booth in the 4-H Building at the State Fair, she said. So when she tied the knot last year, she spared no detail. She walked down the aisle in a flowing ivory gown with a long veil and lacey bolero jacket. Ten flower-toting bridesmaids and seven groomsmen were in the wedding party. And after the ceremony, 100 guests dined on beef tenderloin, clams casino and a three-tier vanilla cake.
Heller-Wells wasn't some blushing new bride, though. When the retired registered nurse, 64, wed her husband, Clyde, a small-business owner who is 65, it was her second time at the altar.
"I met my Prince Charming. He swept me off my feet," says the Clearwater, Fla., widow whose first husband died in 2003. "We're hoping this will be the last marriage. Why not celebrate?"
Only a few years ago, it was considered in poor taste for a bride over age 55, particularly if she had been previously married, to do things like wear a fancy wedding gown, rock out to a DJ at the reception or have the groom slip a lacy garter belt off of her leg.one of the premier designers of Wholesale Designer Long Wedding Dresses, But those days are gone: Older couples no longer are tying the knot in subtle ways.
The trend in part is being driven by a desire to emulate the lavish weddings of celebrities of all ages. But it's also one of the results of a new "everything goes" approach that does away with long-held traditions and cookie-cutter ceremonies in favor of doing things like replacing the first husband-and-wife dance with a group reenactment of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. That's left older couples feeling less self-conscious about shelling out serious cash to party like their younger peers.
Couples age 55 and older made up just 8 percent of last year's $53 billion wedding business. But that number has doubled since 2002, according to Shane McMurray,Our wedding 2013 Cheap Designer Bridesmaid Dresses great cheap price, CEO of The Wedding Report, which tracks spending trends in the wedding industry.
In 2011, women ages 55 and over accounted for 5.2 percent and men in that age range made up 7.9 percent of the more than 2.1 million marriages performed in that year in the U.Your Cheap Designer Quinceanera gowns is a simple and easy.S., according to Bowling Green State University's National Center for Family and Marriage Research, based on analysis of census figures. That's up from 2001 when 2.6 percent of new marriages performed were among women in that age group; for men, it was 6.6 percent.
And those older couples spend more. That's because they're usually empty nesters who don't have the same worries as their younger counterparts: They aren't saving for their first home, for instance, and they aren't burdened by huge student loan debts they must worry about paying off.
And at David's Bridal, the nation's largest bridal chain with 300 locations across the U.S., business from older couples has doubled in the past two years, compared with modest growth for the younger age group, says Brian Beitler, the chain's chief marketing officer. And while older customers represent only two to three percent of overall sales, the company expects that figure to keep growing.
And they're a lucrative bunch. David's Bridal, which is based in Consohocken, Pa., says older brides spend about $700 to $800 on gowns, including accessories like necklaces. That's higher than the $500 to $600 that customers in their twenties and early thirties typically spend.
But older brides aren't just spending more, they're spending differently. For instance, in the past, older brides tended to stick with special-occasion dresses, but now they want more traditional wedding gowns.
"She's our dream bride," says Catalina Maddox, fashion director at David's Bridal. "She wants everything that the 25-year-old bride wants, but more."
The trend is so prevalent that David's Bridal is looking at ways to better connect with the older wedding crowd. In fact, its store in Danbury, Conn. recently held a bridal fashion show at a nearby nursing and rehabilitation facility; the event was a hit with the residents,Los Angeles for all ladies Wholesale Womens Long cocktail gowns, the store says.
"It really sparked something," said Jenna McNamara, the assistant store manager at David's Bridal in Danbury, Conn., which has noticed residents in nearby retirement homes as customers for either weddings or commitment ceremonies.Buy and Wholesale Flower girl dresses from professional wedding. "We realized this was something huge."
Terry Hall, fashion director at Kleinfeld's, the New York City bridal salon that has the nation's biggest selection of designer bridal wear under one roof with more than 1,000 designs, also has seen a change in attitude in the last year or so among the older set. He said business from that group has doubled. Click on their website www.dressestmall.com for more information.
Dressed in navy blue pants and a crisp white collared shirt, Maddox Crocker cuts a smart pose.
While the Grade 1 student can't wait to return to Mary Ward Catholic Elementary School in a few weeks, his mother fears her rambunctious six year old will do a number on her wallet.
"It looks adorable but I think, for small children, a uniform is a waste," said Stacie High, Maddox's mother.
"I like to use hand-me-downs because he's going to wreck his clothes. Most of his pants have holes in the knees."'
Lisa Corritore, whose children will be returning to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Elementary School in September, said the mandatory clothes could be costly for some families as they will need to purchase clothing for school as well as other items.
"A dress code is good but it is hard to build a wardrobe for two kids. We still have to buy regular clothes and they're still growing."

"To me that's not bad and my son doesn't have to spend time in the morning to pick out what he's going to wear."
Jennifer Kimonos, who has children at Loretto Catholic Elementary School, supports the new dress code.
"I'm all for it," said the mother of three. "I was born and raised Catholic and I've always felt that the Catholic schools should be separated from the public schools and this is a great way to do it."
A self-professed savvy shopper, Kimonos started shopping for back-to-school clothes last March.
"We want to equalize our students in our schools, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds," he said.
The dress code process began in 2011, with letters sent to 21,000 families with students in the board, asking them for feedback. In May 2012, changes were incorporated by a board committee into a draft policy.
At a school board vote last November,Our wedding 2013 Cheap Designer Bridesmaid Dresses great cheap price, members voted in favour of implementing a dress code.

Women gravitated to Pinterest's visual appeal early on; now the social network is making a concentrated effort to reach out to small businesses to start using the service as it seeks to expand its audience base.
Pinterest has yet to accept advertising - it's expected to start experimenting with monetization next year - but it's open for business for folks looking to market to consumers.
Pinterest, which reached 46 million visitors in July, according to measurement site ComScore, is a website and app that lets users "pin" photos and Web links of things they're interested in. You can browse categories to see what folks think of, say, wedding dresses, sunflowers and chicken pot pie,our exquisitely Embroidery lace dress weaves a rich tapestry of textures for a couture worthy finish. and businesses can post photos and links to try and grow their sales.
Pinterest recently introduced a new tool called "Rich Pins," which lets retailers provide extra information about what's being pinned. For instance, if online retailer Etsy displays an image, Pinterest also includes the price, size and color, says Evan Sharp, a Pinterest co-founder. "That helps us make it easier to discover."
Some businesses have had a hard time understanding Pinterest, he admits. "Pinterest takes a moment to 'get it.' If you don't take that moment, there's a little bit of a learning curve."
Courtney Jentzen, who makes custom wedding invitations and illustrations, regularly "pins" her work on Pinterest, and gets lots of feedback - and inquiries.
"For me to post a tweet would be showcasing a thought, but since I'm visually based, Pinterest is such a bigger deal," she says. "A pin can create a ripple effect. I post it, it shows up on someone else's page,Dresses for elegant Wholesale Short Homecoming Gowns and short formal dresses. and it goes from there. You can reach so many more people than you'd find on a blog, or even on Twitter or Facebook."
Making Pinterest cooler than any other social network - at least for Jentzen - is the clickthrough. Click the photo once, see the picture,Our wedding 2013 Cheap Designer Bridesmaid Dresses great cheap price, click it again, and it takes you straight to the company website. "No one else does that," she says.
Patty Triplett West, who runs the Good Karmal company in Bozeman, Mont., says she pins on Pinterest because "I have to be there. People go on Facebook to connect, but with Pinterest they are there to be inspired." As a company, she offers her caramels as custom gifts for weddings and anniversaries, and each one is wrapped with an inspirational quote. "Folks often pin them when they're planning."
Tammy Thompson, from Las Vegas, likes to go on Pinterest to "see what my friends like to do, places to go and things to create for your home," she says. "It's really fun."
Sharp describes Pinterest as a place "to help people discover what they love, and inspire them to do those things in their real life."
Pinterest launched in 2010, and struggled for a year until women began to discover it and began spreading the word. Some $338 million has been raised by the firm from a variety of venture firms including Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer Venture Partners. Forbes says Pinterest is valued at $2.Searching for the Wholesale 2013 Celebrity Dresses to wear on your big night?Red Ruched Flower PearlsA-line Ruching Pearl Chiffon Prom gowns Engagement.5 billion.
Challenges for the company include establishing a business model, making Pinterest relevant outside the United States, and broadening the appeal here.

Around the same time as the market crash, Leonard says Wall Street and investment groups pushed retailers to expand. This expansion caused companies to lose sight of strategic planning. Many put too many stores in certain markets, which Leonard says, caused them to go from "exclusive" to "a commodity."
"You become a little more ho-hum. If you take a national retailer that's in every mall and every project, they're not really perceived in the same light as somebody like Tiffany's,Searching for the Wholesale 2013 Celebrity Dresses to wear on your big night? as an example where they only have a few locations in top markets," Leonard says.Formal Wholesale Cheap Designer Long Evening Dresses and gowns will have you looking your best.
In an effort to correct the expansion, many remaining brands are pulling back their retail locations -- some by 50 percent. At a national brand level, there are fewer retailers to put in these shopping environments, creating available spaces in malls, Leonard says.
Arlington resident Ann Bloome says she shops at the Ballston mall somewhat frequently, mostly for Macy's and the building's restaurants, which include Rock Bottom Brewery and Panera Bread. However, she says if the mall retained more big- brand stores, she would frequent it more often.
"We were just recently at the Macy's and Nordstrom in Tysons Corner because I was looking for a dress for a wedding and I knew they would have something. If I knew that this mall would have something, I would come here," Bloome says.

As a primary school teacher working long hours, Bethan Goodhew put her headaches and dizziness down to fatigue and stress caused by her busy job.
Working with four and five year olds she would spend much of her day crouching or sitting on little chairs with her young pupils.
“Then when I stood up, everything went black and I saw stars. I couldn’t see and I felt completely -off balance.
"I had to stand still so I didn’t bump into the children,” says Bethan, from Old Colwyn, Clwyd, North Wales.
Bethan tried to blame her symptoms on the fact she was rundown after a series of colds, and thought the dizziness was down to her blood pressure.
But soon her eyesight started to suffer and she struggled to focus on the computer or the books she was marking.
The 26 year old knew her weight was an issue – she weighed 25st and was a size 28 – but she had no idea this was the cause of her problems.
Eventually, she sought help – first from her optician thinking she needed glasses, then from a neurologist who discovered she was suffering from benign intracranial hypertension.
This rare condition is when fluid pressure builds up in the skull, -squashing the optical nerve, which carries vital messages to the brain, behind the eye.
It was putting Bethan’s sight – and -possibly her life – at risk.

Bethan says: “It was terrifying. I went to the opticians thinking I might end up getting some new glasses,You can find quality Wholesale Cheap Designer Prom Dresses Online and evening gowns. then I was told it could be cancer and sent for scans. That freaked me out.

Inspector Nyadikor said the accused later followed up to the All Souls Baptist Church, South La, where the wedding took place and again impersonated Salome Boatemaa Boamah, a witness in the case, who was part of the team in charge of the gift table.
He said, on that note, the accused was allowed by the church clerks to gain access to the gift table.
The prosecution told the court that accused, during a conversation with another witness in the case, introduced herself as a course mate of the bride at the University of Cape Coast.
He said after the wedding reception, the parcels and the record book were bound together and separated from the bag containing the envelopes and as the witnesses packed the parcels into the wedding cars, the accused stole the bag containing the envelopes and bolted in a waiting taxi.
He said on August 17, accused was spotted at another wedding reception at Margaret Mary Preparatory School, Dansoman, by one of the witnesses in the case, busily receiving parcels.
He told the court that the witness then raised an alarm and accused was accordingly arrested and sent to the Dansoman Police Station and later to Cantonment Police Station.
