SHOPFRONTS of three bridal stores were instantly destroyed in an explosion of glass by an out-of-control car early yesterday.
Dramatic CCTV footage captured the moment about 4am when the wayward vehicle slammed into the stores in Sydney Rd, Brunswick.
The vehicle mounted the footpath and smashed into a bridal boutique, a wedding cake store, and a hairdressing salon about 4am.
Police say a Coburg man, 24, at the wheel returned a blood alcohol reading of .154. He is expected to be charged on summons with careless driving, speeding and drink-driving.
He and his passenger escaped with minor injuries.

The impact of the crash left furniture and display cakes strewn across the specialty cake store Jessicakes' shop front.
