The phone is a small but functional Android phone with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor. When inserted into the tablet it becomes a bog-standard, functional Android tablet. To answer calls in this mode you use a ballpoint pen-shaped stylus which doubles as a Bluetooth handset.
The HTC One S is a lovely, smaller 3g smart phones with a 4.3-inch screen and a 1.7GHz dual-core processor. The latter meant it sped along happily through just about every task and almost rivalled the One X for camera performance - though it's not quite as quick. The metal chassis makes it one of the classiest phones on offer and the HTC Sense tweaks are all worth having.
HTC's Desire X came out of nowhere and appears to exist to keep the Desire brand name alive. The 4-inch screen is crisp and clear, although the 5-megapixel camera was consistently not sharp and struggled in low light. It looks very classy with its white chassis with metal trim and handles well. The battery easily lasted all day. A big boon was that holding the Page Flip button down acted as a Menu button - we hope to see this feature on other HTC phones.
HTC's One V is the budget model and echoes the design of the legendary HTC Legend. Its solid metal chassis belies its low price although the single-core 1GHz processor felt pedestrian by modern standards and the 5-megapixel camera is noticeably inferior to other HTCs. You also need a microSD card to make the limited memory useable. The 3.7-inch screen is bright and functional but the small size and keyboard mean it's suited to those with small hands.
Last week's Windows Phone 8 launch showed off three snazzy handsets from HTC, Samsung and Nokia. Because WP8 phones all use the same systems, there's very little difference in terms of functionality. The Lumia 920 comes in some funky colours, offers 4G, a great 1280 x 760 4.5-inch screen and an optical-image-stabilized 8-megapixel camera. It also offers, wire-free charging as an option. It looks great but will be pricey at over $800.
You could wait forever to buy your next phone - there are always newer and better models on the horizon. Right now, if you want the latest 4G model and don't want to be regretting your decision in the next two months, then frankly your only choice is the iPhone. All of the 4G Android models excel in some areas but fall down in others.
At a time when funding for arts education is being cut in favor of math and language arts, it’s important to realize all that the arts can do for our children. Art builds the imagination, fosters creativity and problem solving, and develops fine motor skills. Art can teach kids many important lessons:
- Develop eye-hand coordination - Observe the world around them, and learn to trust their own eyes rather than what they think they “should” see or know - Make comparisons and make choices, distinguish between what’s important and what isn’t - Improve by practicing, and take pride in their artistic growth and development - Develop an understanding of what goes into making a work of art-helping them appreciate the work of other artists
According to Americans for the Arts, children who regularly take art classes are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement. They also point out that art classes help kids stay out of trouble and away from destructive influences.
But did you know that art also helps to develop language skills for reading and writing and the cognitive skills needed for math? Participating in the arts helps children learn to focus, to listen, and to be tolerant of new ideas and different people. The arts also help kids learn the value of doing a good job for its own sake, of taking pride in their work, and of setting goals for themselves and reaching those goals.
Drawing and painting are excellent and enjoyable ways for kids of all ages to become involved in art. Many kids think they “can’t draw Gallery Oil Paintings” because their drawings don’t look exactly like real things. They think this means they don’t have any talent, and perhaps shouldn’t bother to try. But the great thing about drawing is that it’s a skill. Anyone can learn to draw and anyone can get better at it. Painting adds the element of color and stretches kids’ imaginations and opportunities for exploration, experiment and creativity. Art helps children become creative adults with good problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Art can be a source of enjoyment and accomplishment that will last their entire lives.
Android One followed the launch at the end of August by Mozilla, the non-profit behind the Firefox browser, of its own cheaper smart phones for the Indian mobile market. By making smartphones more affordable, Google and Mozilla hope to take the lead in connecting the estimated five billion people worldwide – primarily from emerging markets – who still have yet to join the developed world online.
Consider as well the manner in which mobile users in emerging markets usually purchase their mobile plans and data packages. It’s a multi-step, time-consuming process that involves either a physical trek to a retailer to top up a data plan, or the dreaded and unreliable multi-sequence USSD call-and-response. This often fails in areas of poor data connectivity, driving consumers to abandon the entire process in frustration.
Consumers, when presented with sponsored data in increments they understand – say, an hour of a popular social media site or a day of full access to the mobile web – are quick to respond. Our work with sponsored data in developing markets over the past two years shows that offers such as these need to be simple to access.
There are the mobile operators themselves. They know that they often lack the capabilities to deliver sponsored data in a cost-effective manner, and further recognise that vague and confusing bundles of megabytes simply don’t work for all consumers, particularly those who are coming to the internet for the very first time. This is where the crucial role of data compression from third parties can make the economics of sponsored data much more viable.
Mobile data becomes infinitely more affordable, understandable and attractive when there’s something to be gained by multiple interested parties. This potential is now beginning to be realised by sponsored data, which mobile operators from Pakistan to Nigeria to Malaysia have begun to embrace as both the business models and technology to support it have fallen into place.
By supporting even these paid offers with invisible-to-the-consumer data compression technology, operators can not only keep data pricing low: but also at the same time utilise the same infrastructure that allows for sponsored data to trial their own innovations in 21st-century premium data packaging.
Bamiyan is known for the idiotic destruction of spectacular statues by the Taliban in 2001. Behind the statues there are caves that have paintings dating back to the 7th century.
In many European history and art books, oil painting is said to have started in the 15th century in Europe. But scientists from the National Research Institute for Cultural Properties in Tokyo, the Centre of Research and Restoration of the French Museums-CNRS, the Getty Conservation Institute and the ESRF have recently identified drying oils in some of the samples they studied from the Bamiyan caves. Painted in the mid-7th century A.D., the murals show scenes with Buddhas in vermilion robes sitting cross-legged amid palm leaves and mythical creatures. The scientists discovered that 12 out of the 50 caves were painted with oil painting technique, using perhaps walnut and poppy seed drying oils.
A combination of synchrotron techniques such as infrared micro-spectroscopy, micro X-ray fluorescence, micro X-ray absorption spectroscopy or micro X-ray diffraction was crucial for the outcome of the work. "On one hand, the paintings are arranged as superposition of multiple layers, which can be very thin. The micrometric beam provided by synchrotron sources was hence essential to analyze separately each of these layers. On the other hand, these paintings are made with inorganic pigments mixed in organic binders, so we needed different techniques to get the full picture" Marine Cotte, a research scientist at CNRS and an ESRF scientific collaborator explains.
The results showed a high diversity of pigments as well as binders and the scientists identified original ingredients and alteration compounds. Apart from oil-based paint layers, some of the layers were made of natural resins, proteins, gums, and, in some cases, a resinous, varnish-like layer. Protein-based material can indicate the use of hide glue or egg. Within the various pigments, the scientists found a high use of lead whites. These lead carbonates were often used, since Antiquity up to modern times, not only in Discount Oil Paintings but also in cosmetics as face whiteners.
The paintings are probably the work of artists who traveled on the Silk Road, the ancient trade route between China, across Central Asia's desert to the West. However, there are very few studies about this region.
What should you be doing, and what should you avoid in order to get the best China Android Smart Phone? Keep reading, and all will be revealed... You can never get enough advice when it comes to choosing and buying great China Android phones.
Buying from China, regardless of if you're buying 1 phone, or one thousand, requires you to be careful, and to research what you're going to be doing in advance.
1. Research The Phone Manufacturer. There are many phone manufacturers, or even companies that 'claim' to be manufacturers, in China. Would you buy from someone that you don't know?Whilst you can buy from a reseller, you're going to get the best deals by going straight to the manufacturer. A search online should give you some indication, but don't forget to use Chinese channels to find them as well, as they may not be advertised on the Western internet.
2. What Are The Phones' Specifications? OK, so you may have found a manufacturer, or supplier of China Android phones, that you like the look of. However, you also need to spend some time researching the phones that they're offering.Check the specifications of each phone, and make sure that the design of each is what you're looking for. Are they the right size, powerful enough, operate on your local networks, etc?
3. Find & Read Reviews On China Android Phones. Even smaller Chinese brand phones will have online reviews, or perhaps videos, somewhere. Seek them out and read or watch them. They'll give you a truer feel for what the phone is really like than the manufacturer's specifications will.
I suggest searching for the brand of your phone, and its model in Google. Despite being a Chinese phone, it's very likely that Western sites will have picked up on it. Videos are also useful, even if they're sponsored, as these help you to see what the phones look like when held and in use.
4. Be Prepared To Pay Import Tax. You're no doubt aware that your country may charge import tax on any new phones that you have shipped to you, but don't forget to factor in this cost to your deal.Although Chinese phones may be cheap compared with buying in your country, the tax could tip the deal over the edge into not being so worthwhile.
Fine art has always been known to project a light, positive effect to an individual’s well-being, whether he owns the art and proud to have it displayed on his walls or he’s just a passerby appreciating the art and what it is trying to tell him. Many observe how hospital institutions everywhere invest heavily in various art pieces and exposing them to their patients. They are perfectly aware of how fine art would affect and improve their patients’ conditions.
Take a moment to imagine an exquisite oil painting reproductions hand-painted to the likes of your favorite Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir or even Rembrandt hanging majestically within the dining room or adorning the powerful walls inside your corporate office. That would be a sight indeed! Getting one is not really that hard; oil painting reproductions on canvas is an affordable way to decorate your walls with such masterpieces.
Oil painting reproductions are the next best thing to fine art. With these, you can furnish your house with fine art masterpieces from great artists of the past and from our time. Of course, these reproductions will never be of the same worth as the original ones, but it will not be made too obvious on a canvass platform.
It is perfectly understandable that not all people can afford the original paintings; what art enthusiasts do is settle for high-quality oil painting reproductions, and everyone seems to have accepted it for what it is and what it means to them. Unlike prints and its complexities, oil painting reproductions do not really present an obvious difference to the original ones. You can even surprise yourself with museum-quality reproductions as long as you can get your hands on the right dealers.
To appreciate the beauty that your art painting on your wall is trying to preach you, you have to understand first the essence of oil reproductions and what these represent. For starters, there are various levels of quality presented in oil painting reproductions. Understanding the four different quality grades is the key to your purchases based on your actual needs and desires.
More than 400 million Chinese people have a mobile phone, making China the country with the highest number of mobile phone users worldwide. Mobile phone services are cheap and of high quality chinese phone, and the phones themselves are seen as a status symbol in Chinese society.
The biggest mobile operators in China are China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom. Signing up for a mobile phone service in China is pretty simple: You just buy a SIM card at any store that sells phones, buy some airtime and you are ready to go. Mobile contracts are not common in China, so you need to buy a phone card for additional airtime credit every time you run out.
Be aware that the city where you buy your SIM card is considered the “hometown” for your phone, and although your phone will work everywhere in China, you can only add airtime with a phone card from your hometown. If you plan to travel within China for a while, you should stack up on phone cards before you leave your home. Most mobile phone services offer national coverage without any roaming fees outside your hometown.
China uses the GSM-standard for mobile communication, so most mobile phones will not work in China. If you have a GSM phone, it might be locked by the mobile provider from your home country, but you can normally unlock it for a small fee at most phone stores.
Of course, you can also buy a mobile phone in China. Given that mobile phones are a status symbol in China, you might want to invest some money in a rather upscale model if you want to impress Chinese colleagues or business partners. If you only stay for a short time in China, you can also rent out a phone in the shops of the major airports.
Abstract oil painting originated from abstract art, which is some kind of art style. However, abstract art is not sprang from the twentieth century, during which period abstract oil painting came out, developed and went grown. Abstract art has a mysterious and long history tied in a hundred and one ways with Judaism and Islam. Although viewers can feel frenzy, fantastic, and exaggerated, hardly can one associate it with forbidden protocols by Judaism and Islam. Just because people were prohibited from depicting human being on canvas, they created abstract art style in which way human and objects were absurd and obscure images in artworks unexpectedly. From then on, abstract art has been developing as a profound art style; and oil painting is one of the most important manners of this art style.
Abstract oil painting could be dated from early twentieth century authentically. Unlike these conventional schools of painting, abstract oil painting seems to be irrational, frenzy, and even in chaos; we can not define it as something may be understood or not briefly. Nevertheless, all the different characteristics from conventions make abstract oil painting much more attractive on the contrary. Viewers like this art style not only because of its novelty, but also by virtue of its art profundity. Rooted from cogitation of human nature, abstract oil painting can grasp every viewer's soul and then guide them to the secret garden of their deep heart.
Often we forget what the term art really means, what it refers to. There is a strong tendency to generalize the meaning of art and many feel that art simply equates to a pretty picture and for most of us that’s the extent of it. Or, on the other hand, if an artist is adept at faithfully copying an image from nature, he is considered an artist. He created art.

One of the main appealing properties of Modern Oil Paintings are the glazes. By adding a small amount of pigment to the relatively clear oil medium, you can very subtly tint an image. This is called glazing. Most Renaissance Old Masters used a toned underpainting and then built up several of these thin glazes of colour on top to create astonishingly realistic figures and scenes. The translucence of the paint film allows for sophisticated ranges of flesh tones.
Okay, another analogy: imagine the top layer of oil is stretching as it dries out hardens, and it stretches to the max. Its surface is expanding because it is absorbing oxygen. Now, they oxygen eventually begins to hit the layer below. And it stretches and expands to the max. But they layer above is already dry, how can it expand any more with the one below pulling it!
Like a big cookie on a pan. Slide an uncooked cookie under a cooked cookie, a bigger one and stretch and heat up that dough: as the bottom cookie dries and expands its surface, it will crack the smaller cookie it is now stretching on its surface. To get around this, painters developed the Fat Over Lean rule. With each layer of glaze, add an increased amount of oil paint to the layer. This way, the rate of oxygen begin absorbed by an oily top layer will be slower than the hidden lower, less oily layers, and hopefully they will saturate with oxygen and harden at approximately the same time.
This leads to other tricks and techniques too. If you use too little oil in an early glaze, it can obliterate the drawing or painting underneath that you want to show through all the thin transparent glazes. It also can make the paint too pasty and thick, which is unworkable for fine detail. So, in the early, lower glazes, sometimes solvents such as turpentines are added.
To answer the question above about the dandelion salad, oils themselves are not harmful. An open container of say, safflower oil on the table will do no more harm to breathe in than some extra-virgin olive oil with Balsamic vinegar and a few chili flakes on your table for bread. It’s the solvents you have to be especially wary of. Even some of the odorless ones have harmful vapors, although it’s possible nowadays to buy non-toxic alternatives.
